According to latest reports Motorola is working on smartphones which are ‘just right’ sized. If this is indeed true, the new devices will be a welcome break from the monotony of large screen Android smartphones in the market. These new smartphones are said to run stock Android software. Google bought the company though they’re yet to release a line of products that both of them have jointly made. These stock Android phones are said to follow a philosophy of “better is better” as opposed to “bigger is better,” this coming from Jim Wicks who is design chief at Motorola.
Wicks says that these Google influenced Motorola smartphones will be revealed in the second half of this year. He says that customers who like small form factors and stock Android software will definitely be excited. He adds that their strategy is to embrace Android and present its best impression in the market, and that their devices will run on an unadulterated version of Android and will offer the best Android experience.
As far as the design is concerned, he says that they’ll be making bezels as narrow as possible and will add scratch and drop resistance in to the designs. Wicks says Motorola will be getting away from spec wars that are just about specs and not about consumer experience. This means that the specs of these smartphones will probably not be the same as other smartphones of their category, the company is counting on the unmatched consumer experience that these devices will supposedly offer.
