I guess you can say that the smartwatch market is far from a mature one, where we have also seen rumors of major consumer electronics companies like LG, Samsung and even Apple working on a smartwatch of their own. It goes without saying then, the Microsoft too, does not want to be left out of the fray, which is why folks over at The Wall Street Journal have reported that Microsoft has been doing their fair bit of shopping for different parts which could eventually be brought together to construct a watch-like device.
Of course, details at this point of time remain extremely scarce as to what the final gadget from Microsoft would be like, although unnamed supplier executives have informed the WSJ that Microsoft has been on the prowl for 1.5-inch touchscreens, leading us to wonder just what they would want to do with that? Surely it is too small for a smartphone, and since pagers are already dead and buried, a smartwatch would be a more logical conclusion. It won’t be cool if the Microsoft smartwatch suffered from the dreaded Blue Screen of Death though…
