Future Blackberry 10 Devices May No Longer Feature Removable Batteries [Rumor]

Back in the day, phones with removable and interchangeable batteries were the norm, but that started to change in more modern phones whose batteries are fixed and sealed in a unibody chassis, resulting in the user having to deal with the size of the battery and be careful about their use to prevent the phone from dying on them in the middle of the day.

Thankfully there are still smartphones out there that still have removable batteries, Blackberry phones for instance, such as the Blackberry Z10 and the upcoming Q10. However a rumor picked up by the folks at BBOS might see such a trend die out in future Blackberry 10 products.

According to the rumor, it has been suggested that future Blackberry 10 devices, like the rumored R-series for example, will be doing away with the removable back and battery. In fact BBOS has learned that the Q10 could possibly be the last Blackberry 10 device to feature a removable battery, at least as far as Blackberry 10 products released in 2013 are concerned.

Of course if a phone without removable batteries were to pack a whopping amount of juice, like the Motorola RAZR MAXX, that would not be an issue, although at this point in time we are unsure as to what Blackberry might have planned. Take this rumor with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys make of this?
