When asked by a gamer if Bungie would be ready for the “onslaught of players on Destiny’s release day”, Bungie replied by saying, “This isn’t our first rodeo. Bungie is no stranger to anxious mobs of players who rush home after a midnight launch and put our best-laid plans to the test. Since a release date hasn’t even been announced yet, we’ll let our team focus on some less frightening but equally important challenges.” While it sounds reassuring, Blizzard has plenty of experience as well with games like World of Warcraft and having been operating its Battle.net service for over a decade.
In any case we hope that Bungie will be able to deliver as promised, but what do you guys think? Will they succeed or do you think that games with always-on requirements are subject to teething problems in its early stages and that it is to be expected?
