55% Of Blackberry Z10 Customers Come From Other Platforms, According To CEO
We’re pretty sure that many a Blackberry loyalist would have jumped at the opportunity to swap out their older Blackberry device in favor of the new Blackberry Z10. At the same time we expect that there are other users from other platforms who might have liked what they’ve seen and might have jumped shipped as well, but the question is, how many? During Blackberry’s Q4 FY2013 earnings call, Blackberry CEO Thorsten Heins revealed that not only was Blackberry 10 seeing new subscribers from older Blackberry users, but they are also seeing an influx of new users coming from other platforms, a whopping 55% to be exactly.
Heins stated that 55% of those who bought the Z10 came from other mobile platforms, such as iOS, Android or Windows Phone. If the numbers are accurate, this is certainly a pretty amazing feat for Blackberry and goes to show that the Blackberry Z10 certainly does have appeal and that many are willing to check it out. This is in line with comments made by Blackberry’s MD in India who claimed that 45% of Blackberry Z10 customers came from other platforms.
