From this Thursday onwards, GOG.com, a website that specializes in selling old computer games which were specially optimized for modern PCs, will put up System Shock 2 for sale at $10. System Shock 2 has been hailed to be one of the best games ever, placing you in an eerie space station that has been evacuated, with only scattered audio logs informing you on what went wrong. Hmmm, someone should make a modern day Walking Dead shooter, except that we have zombies in space stations. Wait a minute here, hasn’t that been done in Doom already? Would you pick up System Shock 2 to relive the adventure for $10?
Basically, forking out $10 for a game that was released in 1999 and meant to run on the Windows 98 platform, but is now capable of running on a modern day PC without having to go through the trouble of preparing a legacy machine is definitely worth checking out, don’t you think so? Especially when it is deemed to be one of the top games of all times in some folks’ ranking list.
