Although the Japanese version of the LG Optimus G is already on the market, the world was eagerly awaiting for some certainty as for the International version, and the U.S version will most likely be derivatives of that one. First of all the LG Optimus G Pro is officially a “Phablet”, thanks to its huge 5.5″ 1080p (full HD) IPS Display. From a processor standpoint, the Optimus G Pro will use the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro just like its predecessor. There’s 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage (no microSD, sorry). There’s one more bit of good news: the battery will stand at 3140mAh and that should provide enough room for power users to play with.
We’ve been quite enthusiastic about the LG Optmus G, and so far, it seems that the Optimus G Pro improves where it was needed the most, namely the display quality (1080p) and the larger battery. The 5.5″ size is welcome for folks (like me) who like the comfort of a large display. This will raise the bar for the upcoming Nexus Phone…
As you may have seen, LG has also announced lower-end LG Optimus L Series II smartphones yesterday, with the LG L5II, L3II and L7II. All handsets should be on display at Mobile World Congress in a couple of weeks. [LG site, in Korean]
