HP Slate7 Going For Just $169

[MWC 2013] Now here is a tablet device for the budget-minded – the HP Slate7, which will see HP dive back into the tablet market, after their failed outing that saw the demise of webOS along the way. The HP Slate7 will be a budget-friendly tablet that runs on Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and powered by a dual-core Cortex-A9 1.6GHz processor, accompanied by a 3-megapixel shooter at the back and a VGA camera up front, offering consumers easy access to the slew of Google Mobile services.

Sporting a 7-inch display that is surrounded by a stainless-steel frame and soft black paint (where you can choose from gray or red on the back), the HP Slate7 tips the scales at a mere 13 ounces, now how about that? It will also go down the same path as other HTC devices, being the first tablet in the industry that comes with Beats Audio support.

Google services such as Google Now, Google Search, Gmail, YouTube, Google Drive and Google+ Hangouts for multiperson video chat are supported, in addition to the myriad of apps that you can download via Google Play. This will see the HP Slate7 hook up with the HP Chromebook, showing how serious HP is in the Android initiative.
