A few days ago, Google revealed their Google Glass would not only be available to consumers by the end of this year, but would also be reasonably priced at less than $1,500. After hearing that, we knew you’d be dying to get your hands on the wearable computer ASAP. And it looks like you could do just that, that is, if you trust a recent listing on eBay for a pair of Google Glasses.
The listing is from a seller located in Cleveland, Ohio who claims they’ve been selected as an “early adapter” of the Google Glasses and is scheduled to pick up their device this week at a launch event in New York City. Meanwhile, we have yet to hear from our official sources of any launch event for Google Glass going on this week in New York.
The eBay auction started off at an asking price of $1,500, but has since jumped up to nearly $16,000 with its end coming tomorrow. The seller details how they plan to deliver their Google Glasses to you:
“If i am offered a choice, I will choose the color of your choice (see listing picture for variants). Project Glass will be shipped with Insurance at my expence, and signature upon delivery, so please use an address you can accept delivery in person.”
We can’t even begin to tell you how bogus we believe this listing is and hope eBay becomes aware of it as it needs to be taken down, or some poor buyer can be handing over nearly $16,000 to some guy in Cleveland.
