Rugged mobile devices have been saving a number of adventurers or those whose occupation involves a lot of mud, water and dust the burden of having to buy a completely new device once theirs becomes a victim of their lifestyle. Caterpillar revealed the CAT B10 last year around this time, and today, they’re announcing its successor, the CAT B15.
Just like the CAT B10, the CAT B15 is built to last in nearly any situation you could think of as its combination of aluminum and rubber shell can help the phone survive drops as high as 5.9 feet onto hard surfaces. The CAT B15 can also stay immersed in 3.3 feet of water for 30 minutes and even work in temperatures anywhere from -4F to 122F. Those of you who work in -5F or 123F conditions may want to reconsider the B15.
As for its specs, the B15 runs on Android Jelly Bean and features a 4-inch WVGA screen, dual-core 1GHz Cortex-A9 processor, 512MB of RAM and a 5-megapixel rear-facing camera. It’s expected to be released this month for £299, which converts to about $437.
