Archos Platinum Range Introduced

Archos has jumped aboard the tablet bandwagon with their latest release, the Platinum tablet range that prides itself in being one of the first few Android-powered tablets in the market that delivers a super high resolution IPS display alongside a quad-core processor, alongside Android 4.1 Jelly Bean as the operating system of choice. The three tablets will come in 8-inch, 9.7-inch and 11.6-inch configurations, where all of them deliver true vivid colors, sharper text and amazingly fast performance.

Shared features in the Platinum range include a 1.2GHz quad-core processor, an 8-core GPU with 1080p video decoding capability, 2GB RAM, full access to the 700,000 applications on Google Play, Archos Media Center applications, two cameras (one in front and another at the back), mini-HDMI and a microSD memory card slot. The Archos 80 Platinum will arrive this month for $199 a pop, while the Archos 97 Platinum HD will be more expensive at $299, offering a stunning 2048×1536 resolution IPS screen that will surely rival the Retina display iPad, and the $349 Archos 116 Platinum boasting of a 1920×1080 resolution IPS display.
