Adobe Photoshop, the graphics editing software of choice for many a professional as well as casual computer user, has now ventured into territory where no serious graphics editing software has gone before, being a pioneer on the mobile device front. Adobe has officially announced the availability of Photoshop Touch for iPhone and Android smartphones, which will more or less deliver similar kind of functionality that can be found in the more powerful tablet app, while sporting an interface that was specifically configured so that smaller displays will not prove to be a hindrance.
Photoshop Touch for phones will introduce the concept of layers, which is capped at just three whenever you perform editing at maximum resolution, while there will also be the hugely popular Scribble Selection feature that allows you to make use of imprecise finger selection in order to pick out precise parts of a picture. Not only that, you will also be able to take advantage of other features such as filters, paint strokes sharing and other components that are the heart and soul of Photoshop Touch. Once done, you can synchronize your projects from the phone to Photoshop on tablets or desktop, courtesy of Adobe’s Creative Cloud service.
Photoshop Touch will retail for $4.99 regardless of whether you pick it up from the App Store or Google Play, and is compatible with the iPhone 4S or later, 5th gen iPod touch or Android phones which are powered by Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich and above.
