Samsung Galaxy Tab To Be Freely Sold In The Netherlands

The raging courtroom battle between behemoths Apple and Samsung continues worldwide with no sign of letting up, but the latest round would go to the South Korean conglomerate, as the Dutch court ruled that there will be no injunction against the entire Samsung Galaxy Tab range in the Netherlands, so this family of tablets will be free to be sold across retail shelves throughout the Netherlands.

The Dutch court in The Hague came to this decision, meaning Apple’s request for the court to ban the Galaxy Tab 7.7, Galaxy Tab 8.9 and Galaxy Tab 10.1 sales is no longer valid. Apple claims that the design looks too similar to the Apple iPad due to its rounded corners (pffft!), and since Samsung has emerged the victor here, Apple would need to fork out around 64,000 Euros in damages. Should Apple try anything funny like blocking sales of the Galaxy Tabs in shops, this will result in a further fine of up to 100,000 Euros daily. Let’s see what is up Apple’s sleeves next…
