Paris Apple Store Robbed Of $1.6 Million Worth Of Goods

Now this is not exactly the most auspicious start to the new year, but word has it that a quartet of armed robbers decided to target a closed Apple Store in Paris that is located in the Opera district on New Year’s Eve, and carted off a bundle of items that is said to have a street value of $1.6 million thereabouts after conversion. The Daily Mail claims that the thieves were masked and armed with handguns, and could very well have meticulously planned the raid to happen in the early evening on New Year’s Eve (you don’t say!?), considering how most of the Paris police department were tasked with maintaining the peace during the city’s New Year’s Eve celebrations. Well, at least Paris didn’t send all of their police force for peacekeeping duty, unlike Gotham’s finest.

The robbers were also said to have allegedly injured a security guard during the store’s raid, where hundreds of iPhones and iPads were the items bundled into a waiting van. No idea on the status of the robbers just yet, but we do know that they have yet to be caught as at press time.
