Other features include Wi-Fi suport, MicroSD, MicroUSB, GPS, G-Sensor, and light and proximity Sensor. It’s also unlocked and can receive OTA updates. Mozilla wants to launch these phones so that developers can test the capabilities and hopefully contribute to the growth of Firefox OS, which is Mozilla’s new mobile operating system.
Mozilla says that Firefox OS uses HTML5 to run apps that can do “phone things” such as the making phone calls and sending text messages. “We are working on bringing the power of the web to mobile, through Firefox OS, along with all the power of open standards and an open community, and once again, we’d like to invite web developers to join us,” said Stormy Peters, Director of Websites and Developer Engagement at Mozilla.
