LinkedIn Hits 200 Million Users
LinkedIn is announcing a new milestone today. On its company blog, the social networking service for professionals revealed that it has reached 200 million users worldwide, with representations across 200 countries and over 19 languages supported. Breaking the down the numbers, LinkedIn posted an infographic showing the active number of users per country. U.S. has the biggest numbers of users, around 74 million, while U.K. has 11 million. Canada has 7 million users, India has 18 million users, and Brazil has a total number of 11 users.
The countries with the fastest number of users include Turkey, Columbia, Indonesia. In terms of mobile growth – that is the number of users on mobile – LinkedIn listed China, Brazil, Portugal, India, and Italy as the top 5. LinkedIn also announced the top 5 most followed people on the social network. It included Richard Branson, Barack Obama, Deepak Chopra, Anthony Robbins, and Jeff Weiner. In spite of the overwhelming numbers, LinkedIn Senior Vice President Deep Nishar believes that it is more than just a metric. “It’s a reminder of the global footprint and the scale of impact our network has each day,” he said.
