Lenovo ThinkPad X131e Chromebook Goes To The Schools

Lenovo has just launched its first ever Chromebook by updating its previously released ThinkPad X131e to carry Google’s Chrome OS. Lenovo is launching the tablet for the K-12 education sector, particularly for students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The Lenovo ThinkPad X131e Chromebook offers simplified software and security features for students, school administrators, and teachers. Lenovo does this by offering quick access to thousands of apps, education resources, and sufficient storage for documents at school.

The ThinkPad X131e Chromebook is also built to last. It features a rubber bumper around the top cover to protect the system in case of accidental dropping. Lenovo says that the hinges and hinge brackets have also been strengthened to survive the numerous times students will open and close the laptop.

The ThinkPad X131e Chromebook sports an 11.6-inch display with a 1366 x 768 resolution. It is powered by an Intel processor. Other features include three USB ports, Wi-Fi connectivity, and a battery that can reportedly last for a day. Lenovo says that the ThinkPad X131e Chromebook will be available beginning February 26th. Pricing is unknown.
