When Ashton Kutcher was announced to be the lead actor in Steve Jobs’ biopic “jOBS,” we were a little hesitant about his ability to capture Steve Jobs’ essence for the film. When you consider the majority of his acting career was spent as a dimwitted teenager on That 70s Show, you could probably understand why we weren’t entirely sure of Kutcher’s ability to perform as Steve Jobs.
Entertainment Tonight released an exclusive clip from jOBS that shows Kutcher performing his role as Steve Jobs in the film. In the clip, Kutcher as Steve Jobs can be seen walking through a parking garage with Josh Gad, who plays Steve Wozniak.
In the clip, Jobs (played by Ashton Kutcher) is raving about the operating system that Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak (played by Josh Gad) created. While Jobs is certain that this will become a ubiquitous product for mass consumption, Wozniak needs convincing.
“Nobody wants to buy a computer,” says Wozniak.
“How does somebody know what they want if they’ve never even seen it?” Jobs replies.
After seeing this short clip, we feel we’ve completely turned a new leaf and believe Kutcher will not only perform very well in jOBS, but we also believe this will skyrocket his career overnight if the level of performance he gives in this clip continues throughout the film.
