D-Link Cloud Camera Range Unveiled

[CES 2013] D-Link is not going to leave the cloud market untapped with the announcement of the D-Link Cloud Camera range, where it will come in the form of the Cloud Camera 1050 (DCS-931L) and Cloud Camera 1150 (DCS-933L). Needless to say, being a spanking new device range in the market, D-Link has not forgotten to ensure that these devices will remain on the cutting edge of technology, boasting a handful of new capabilities to deliver complete round-the-clock surveillance, where among them will include unique audio detection with image alerts based on sound and an integrated wireless repeater mode for expanded coverage which is capable of eliminating Wi-Fi dead zones, while enabling consumers to easily add more Cloud Cameras without having to fret about current wireless coverage. Daniel Kelley, associate vice president of marketing, D-Link Systems, Inc., said, “Catering directly to today’s increasingly mobile lifestyles, D-Link’s new Cloud Cameras and Cloud Routers offer the latest features and performance available for home network and monitoring needs. Keeping an eye on loved ones and valued possessions is easier than ever with greater Wi-Fi coverage and higher quality viewing and recording day and night. And, the new AC Cloud Routers give today’s connected homes with multiple user and high-bandwidth activities the ultimate in network performance and remote management capabilities.”

Both of the compact Cloud Camera 1050 and 1150 are a snap to use, where they are mydlink-enabled and come with integrated CPUs and web servers to deliver high-quality live streaming video which will be sent straight to the network. Both cameras come with 802.11n Wi-Fi connectivity, Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) in a three step installation process, coupled with H.264 video compression technology that takes up less network bandwidth while paving the way for five times the amount of video storage.

The Cloud Camera 1150 also comes with infrared illumination technology for night viewing purposes, letting users monitor a home or small office within a 16 feet range from the camera. When working in tandem with mydlink, users are able to view the live video stream from a PC or notebook remotely, or do so in real-time video straight on an iPhone, iPad or Android device using the free mydlink Lite app. You get VGA (640×480) resolution with D-ViewCam camera management software for Windows powered PCs, in addition to being able to set motion detection triggers for recording schedules and e-mail alert notifications for up to 32 cameras.

Expect the D-Link Cloud Camera 1050 (DCS-931L) and Cloud Camera 1150 (DCS-933L) to retail for $79.99 and $99.99, respectively, this coming February.
