Twitter Says You Can Now Download Your Archived Tweets
Earlier this week, we mentioned that Twitter is beginning to allow its users to download their old tweets. The report was substantiated when a few users reported that a “Your Twitter Archive” option was found at the on-site settings menu. Today, the company is officially announcing the feature. Over at the Twitter blog, Mollie Vandor from the User Services Engineering Team, says that the ability to download your Twitter archive is slowly rolling out starting today, first to users whose language is set to English. “Over the coming weeks and months, we’ll make it available to all users around the world, for all the languages we offer,” she adds.
Downloading the Twitter archive lets users view their tweets by month and will even allow users to search tweets with certain words, phrases, hashtags or @usernames. “You can even engage with your old Tweets just as you would with current ones,” Vandor said. To download your Twitter archive, just go to Settings and scroll down to the bottom to check for the option to request your Twitter archive. After clicking the button, you will receive an email with instructions on how to access your archive when it’s ready for you to download. Cheers!
