Last month we reported that China would be getting their hands on a Nokia Lumia 920 variant that would feature a better processor and GPU, although this wasn’t because Nokia favored the Chinese market more, but because the chipset used in the regular Lumia 920 was not compatible with some of China’s carriers. Well it looks like thanks to a leaked photo, it seems that China could also be getting their hands on a slightly better version of the Lumia 820, or the Lumia 825 as it will most likely be known as in China.

According to CNbeta, the Lumia 825 will come with upgraded storage space – 16GB up from 8GB, and will also come with the PureMotion display that can be found on the Lumia 920, versus the AMOLED display on the regular Lumia 820. The PureMotion display is expected to be better in terms of quality, and is also more sensitive to the point where it can even be used with gloves on. Apart from those changes, the rest of the phone remains the same, such as its 1.5GHz dual-core processor, a 4.3”-sized display and an 8MP rear-facing camera. It is possible that the Lumia 825 is a customized version designed for one of the Chinese carriers, and if the rumors are to be believed, it could be seeing a launch in February 2013.
