Steve Jobs’s Yacht Now Free To Go Home

It was just last week when we said that Steve Jobs’s yacht named “Venus” was impounded in Amsterdam because of some money matters that have yet to be settled between Steve Jobs and designer Philippe Starck. Well, after hitting the headlines, Steve Jobs’s estate has paid a deposit to Starck on Monday to settle the dispute. Hague lawyer Gerard Moussault told AFP on Monday that “Venus” is no longer impounded and that the dispute has been resolved.

“A security deposit was paid into a bank account, but I cannot say for how much,” he said. Moussault added that the reason why there was no formal agreement between Jobs and Starck on the job was that both of them got “very close in the period that the design was made and the building proceeded.” Steve Jobs’s yacht will be shipped to the U.S. and Laurene Powell Jobs, the widow of Steve Jobs, together with their three children, will be taking care of “Venus.” “The captain is waiting for better weather to set sail,” Moussault said.
