Possible full frame Sony mirrorless camera to be released 2013/2014 [Rumor]
While mirrorless camera systems are great for the enthusiast photographer looking for a camera that is not only compact but is able to take high quality images, it does lack one feature that DSLR cameras have which is that they do not come in full frame. Granted not everyone has the need for full frame, but given the way cameras have been developed and the traction mirrorless systems have been gaining, a full frame system wouldn’t be a stretch of the imagination, would it? According to Sony Alpha Rumors, they are claiming that based on the intel gathered by their sources, it seems that Sony could be unveiling a full frame NEX system come 2013.
If true, this rumored camera will not be making an appearance early 2013, but rather a release towards the end of 2013 or early 2014 would be more likely. Their source has also informed them that the camera’s body is expected to be bigger than the NEX-7, but not that different in terms of design. It will also be expected to support E-mount and A-mount lenses, and that at the moment Sony is testing the camera with either a 24MP or 30-32MP sensor. We’ll be taking this with a grain of salt for now, but what do you guys think? Would a full frame mirrorless camera be of interest to you?
