Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch Announced

Lenovo has just announced the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch, which is said to be the lightest 14” touch Ultrabook in the market which has been specially optimized to run Windows 8. It will carry the DNA of previous ThinkPads when it comes to reliability and dependability, as the X1 Carbon Touch uses superior grade, lightweight carbon fiber to get the job done.

Peter Hortensius, president, Lenovo Product Group, said, “Bringing touch gesture control to our best ThinkPad ever is a natural evolution of the portfolio and a big step towards fulfilling our promise to bring computers into a new PC Plus era.We are excited to be able to offer customers the best experience in a thin and light business class Ultrabook. The X1 Carbon Touch is the Ultrabook to beat.”

Tipping the scales at a relatively lightweight 3.4 pounds while measuring all of 20.8mm thin, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch uses carbon fiber material that delivers unprecedented strength and durability, and it sports a smooth 10-finger touch sensitive 14-inch HD+ display, a choice of Intel Core i5 and i7 processors, and Dolby Home Theater v4. Other hardware goodies include a HD face-tracking camera, dual array microphones, an integrated fingerprint reader and RapidCharge capability. Expect to pick up the ThinkPad X1 Carbon Touch for $1,499 a pop.
