Gradiente iPhone Neo One launched in Brazil – lawsuit waiting to happen?
We’ve seen our fair share of iPhone knock-offs coming from China, but Brazil? Well that’s a new one, and based on the photo above, it certainly is not the type of knock-off you are thinking about. Dubbed the Gradiente iPhone Neo One, it seems that only thing “iPhone” about it would be the name itself, and we’re going to guess that Apple will not be pleased by this. However given that the company registered the trademark back in 2000, Apple might have a tough time trying to win this one, although some have speculated that the company may simply be looking for a settlement instead.
In any case the phone appears to be real, although its mediocre specs aren’t much to shout about. The Gradiente iPhone Neo One will sport a 3.7” 320×480 display, a 700MHz processor, 2GB of internal storage, a 5MP rear-facing camera, a 0.3MP front-facing camera, dual-SIM support and best (or worst?) of all, it will come preloaded with Android 2.3.4 Gingerbread. Priced at $285, we expect that those shopping on a budget can probably get something a lot better for that price. Either way we’re definitely curious to see how Apple will be reacting to this.
