Google’s Scan And Match Feature Censors Explicit Lyrics [Rumor]
Following the launch of Google’s Scan and Match feature for Google Music in the U.S., here we are with the rumor that the said functionality is replacing songs that have explicit lyrics on them with cleaner and “censored” versions of the songs. Should this rumor be true, it would definitely upset a few rockers and rappers out there who are fans of the F-bomb. In case you didn’t know, Google Music’s Scan and Match feature tags uploaded music and makes them available on a user’s catalog.
However, a few users reported that when they uploaded albums that contained explicit lyrics, Google only gave clean and un-explicit versions of each song for playback. A few users noted that the “Fix Incorrect Match” button could solve the issue and may allow users to get their original explicit songs back. Google has yet to release a statement to confirm the reports. If you happen to experience the same issue, please let us know.
