This bad boy will definitely have to draw upon large reserves of battery power, and it uses a whopping three dozen ODYSSEY PC1200 car batteries, where thirty of them will power the custom-built DC electric motor which was developed by builder Dennis Berube in Phoenix, Arizona. The motor can output 350 horses and deliver over 800 lb-ft (1,085 Nm) of direct-drive torque, while internal wet disc brakes is said to offer the necessary stopping power. As for the remaining half dozen batteries, those are used to power the braking and steering systems. All in all, the batteries will add another 1,375 pounds to the total weight count, which is rather significant considering the overall weight is 11,000 pounds.
