BioShock Infinite Delayed To March 2013
Hmmm, for folks who have been looking forward to playing BioShock Infinite as soon as possible, it seems that a little bit more patience is in order. In fact, we are talking about a four week delay, meaning you will have to wait until March 26, 2013, to get a go at BioShock Infinite, as this is what Irrational Games announced recently. According to Creative Director Ken Levine, “Okay, guys, I have some bad news. When Rod [Fergusson, Epic’s former Production Director] came on the project a couple of months ago – and this dude is living in a hotel nearby because he really wanted to work on Infinite – he really fell in love with the game. But he said, ‘look, Ken, I really think the game would benefit from three or four more weeks’ I thought ahead to this conversation and went ‘Oh God!’ But at the end of the day, we’ve got to ship a great game. So if it’s three or four more weeks, then it’s three or four more weeks. So it’s March 26th, now.”
Previously, the game was meant to ship globally on February 26, 2013, and this delay is but one of the many in a list of setbacks for BioShock Infinite. First announced in August 2010, it was meant to hit the gaming markets in October this year, but the delay was there to help make the game “even more extraordinary”, although one would strongly suspect that it was yet unfinished or polished enough for a general release. Ah well, as long as it does not end up like a Duke Nukem Forever fiasco…
