Western Digital My Net AC1300 HD Dual-Band Router
Western Digital has announced not only the My Net AC1300 HD Dual-Band Router, but also the My Net AC Bridge as the latest additions to the My Net family of HD dual-band routers. These two devices will merge next-generation 802.11ac wireless technology with Western Digital’s exclusive FasTrack technology which is said to automatically prioritize high-bandwidth entertainment services including (but not limited to) Netflix, YouTube, online games and Skype, where it delivers maximum streaming performance within the home. Thanks to dual-band performance up to 450 + 1300 Megabits per second (Mbps) and FasTrack technology, the My Net AC1300 boasts of 802.11n wireless technology on the 2.4GHz band and 802.11ac wireless technology on the 5GHz band. These two bands are said to function simultaneously, meaning it will significantly reduce streaming delays as well as interference with the multitude of Wi-Fi devices that are hooked up to the network.
As for the My Net AC1300, it manages to achieve its blazing throughput and exceptional signal quality thanks to a unique horizontal 3×3 antenna array design. The My Net AC1300 will also come with a quartet of Gigabit Ethernet ports for wired devices. Since the My Net AC1300 is Universal Plug and Play (UPnP) certified, it is a snap to detect and connect all your Wi-Fi devices, in addition to being Windows 8 certified for seamless support of the new Microsoft operating system.
