Skype offers free worldwide calls for the entire month

Everyone knows that Skype-to-Skype calls have always been free, but not when you have to make use of your Skype credits to call other landlines or mobile phones. While you need to pay some money, it is still far cheaper compared to the standard rate that traditional service providers charge. Good news now – Skype is offering a full month of unlimited calling to mobile devices and landline locations – and these need not even be people in your contact list alone, all you need to do is use the dialer. Sounds too good to be true, as though Christmas has come early? Well, the “fine print” says that fair usage policy is still applicable, which means you cannot chat for too long and hog the line, and premium as well as satellite numbers remain ineligible.

You will also need to claim your free month by November 15th, and you will also have to qualify by being an existing Skype customer for at least the past month. Not only that, you will need to provide relevant payment details just in case you continue to use these otherwise paid services beyond the promotional period. Those living in Russia, China, Taiwan or Korea are not eligible for this service, and only selected destination countries are part of the promotion. For instance, calls to wireless and landline destinations include Canada, Guam, Hong Kong S.A.R. China, Puerto Rico, Singapore, Thailand and United States.

You can only call landlines in the following countries, Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Chile, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg only), Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom and Venezuela.
