Samsung Stopped Apple’s iPad And MacBook Battery Supply?
Blood runs thicker than water, and it is no wonder that Samsung and Apple (different parents here), with plenty of bad blood between them in this year alone, might have continued down on the path of no return – as it was reported that Apple allegedly switched battery suppliers for both the iPad and MacBook range from Samsung to Amperex Technology Limited and Tianjin Lishen Battery. Those two are companies from China, and this happened apparently after Samsung SDI (Samsung’s battery-producing subsidiary) has refrained from sending Apple a supply of batteries. We do wonder just how accurate this report by the China Business News is, and assuming it is in the affirmative, it would be the latest round of punches traded between both companies.
Just how far down do you think any partnership between both companies are able to hold up? Will Apple and Samsung shake hands in front of the world, but stab each other in the back when no one is looking? I personally think that it is irreparable at this point in time, and both companies should just come clean and have nothing to do with one another after this. At least it opens up a window of opportunity for other players in the market, and who knows what kind of new synergies might arise from this fallout?
