Lenovo leads the PC market with increasing shipments and sales

Chinese computer manufacturer Lenovo is announcing that it is now the global market leader in consumer and notebook personal computers. The company recently published its second fiscal quarter results which showed that its PC shipments grew 10.3 percent. In terms of sales, Lenovo said that its net income in the second quarter, which is around $162 million, saw a 13 percent annual increase with gross margin at 12.1 percent.

Lenovo became the worldwide number one consumer and notebook PC company in fiscal quarter two and remained as the largest PC company in emerging markets, including China,” the company told the Hong Kong stock exchange. Lenovo’s claim might sound ballsy, but at least it has the numbers to prove.

Lenovo’s increasing shipments seems to support the claim that the company is succeeding in a time where others are struggling. In October this year, research firm Gartner said that the global PC shipments have declined 8.3 percent compared to Q3 last year. The firm also announced that Lenovo took the top spot in worldwide PC shipments for the first time.
