HTC revenues dropped 60 percent last month
HTC saw its monthly sales dropping roughly 60 percent last month. Announcing its unaudited consolidated revenue for the month of October, the Taiwanese consumer electronics company said that it had a total revenue of NT$17.2 billion or $589 million based on today’s exchange rate. Although the amount isn’t so bad, at least from our own point of view, it’s important to note that HTC’s overall revenue last year for the month of October was NT$44,114 million or $NT 44 billion – a $1.5 billion value.
If you’ll do the math, that’s a whopping 60 percent drop. HTC is reportedly planning to ramp up its revenue to $NT60 billion in the Holiday quarter. But the numbers don’t lie. HTC clearly has a mountain to climb. So far, HTC is betting on its new flagship smartphones running Windows Phone 8 – the HTC Windows Phone 8X and HTC Windows Phone 8S. HTC also has the HTC One X+, the HTC J Butterfly, and the Verizon-bound HTC Droid DNA that could arrive this December.
