Final Fantasy Type-0 Localization Close To Completion In 2011 (Rumor)

It seemed that there is a new rumor going around, touting that Final Fantasy Type-0 localization was well on its way to being complete before the project was dumped – at least this is what an anonymous source stepped forward to say. Apparently, the anonymous source in question got in touch with Operation Suzaku, which is actually a fan group that lobbies for the portable RPG’s release in English speaking countries. One of the voice cast claimed that English voice acting was recorded in its entirety in late 2011, which happened not too long after Type-0′s release in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Unfortunately, the project itself was allegedly shelved earlier this year, and this occurred when the localization level in general was 90% complete. The reason given behind the shelving? It was due to a decline in PSP software and hardware sales in the West. It seemed that Square Enix was adopting a wait and see attitude for a demonstration of fan demand before it will commit to a release. Bummer, no?
