Nokia Windows RT tablet in the works [Rumor]

Nokia is pretty tight with Microsoft when it comes to the Windows Phone 8 platform, where the Finnish smartphone manufacturer has just introduced the Lumia 920 and Lumia 820 to the masses earlier this morning Stateside. Well, there was no mention of a tablet from Nokia at all, but it seems that a rumor has appeared to make its rounds online, touting that Nokia themselves are already working on a Windows RT tablet. After all, Nokia CEO Stephen Elop never did deny that the company he helms would be rolling out a tablet device, but rather, did stress the fact that Nokia is monitoring the tablet market closely.

It is rumored that the Nokia Windows RT-powered tablet that is currently used by Microsoft to test ARM based Windows Store apps is up and running just fine, not to mention that it has also been sent to other Microsoft partners for app testing purposes. Of course, until we see an actual FCC filing or read an official announcement for a Windows RT tablet from Nokia, we will tread cautiously here.

In all fairness, it might be a bit risky for Nokia to jump into the tablet market? After all, Microsoft has already lined up their Surface tablet that will arrive in due time, and with a host of Android-powered tablets and the sheer number of iPads in the market, it might be relatively tough for Nokia to crack this nut.
