Maily is an email app designed specifically for children in mind

Seeing kids with smartphones and tablets these days are becoming common sight. In fact manufacturers have even gone to the extent of creating tablets designed specifically for kids in mind. Now while kids can entertain themselves fairly well with the games and movies on their tablets, rarely do they use their tablets to communicate and this was one thing that Tom Galle and Raphael Halberthal discovered was lacking, which led to them creating the iOS app, Maily.

As you might be able to tell from the screenshot above, Maily is an email client designed for children in mind. It teaches them how to send and receive emails, providing a very visual way for children to compose email messages to send to their friends and relatives. This is accomplished using colorful markers, stickers and fun backgrounds to choose from. Parents will also be able to monitor the messages being sent and received as they will need to fill out a list of contacts that are allowed to send messages to their child’s account, thus prevent spam email with junk from invading their child’s inbox.

Maily sure sounds like a pretty good idea and best of all it is free of charge. However its creators are thinking of a way to monetize it, such as creating a version designed for schools.
