Only recently, Apple rolled out the iOS 6 update. The update brought a whole host of features to the iOS devices. But all that seems rather overshadowed by one glaring mistake – that of the inclusion of Apple’s Maps after having ditched Google Maps. These past few days, the web has been fraught with complaints of the users and reviewers, citing the obvious anomalies in the new Maps app in iOS 6.
But that doesn’t seem to be the end of iOS 6’s woes. Users of iPhone 4 and 4S devices have been reporting on Apple’s forums that the new iOS version seems to deplete their device’s batteries faster than before.
Given the fact that hundreds of iPhone 4 and 4S users are reporting this on Apple’s forums, this seems like a real enough issue. In the past, too, we have seen similar battery issues plaguing the devices of many users with the roll-out of a new iOS versions.
In the case of iOS 6, some have suggested that by turning out location services, the issue is fixed. Yet others claim that the problem persisted despite turning off the feature. For those of you who are tooling an iPhone 4 or iPhone 4S, it would be wise to first look into these issues and only then decide to update to iOS 6, if you haven’t updated already that is.
