Apple Insider has also reported that Apple has been researching the use of carbon fiber in the past three years, and that it will be “completely different” from the norm. So what sort of implications does this have? Well assuming these recent reports are to be believed, future Apple products could incorporate carbon fiber technology, resulting in lighter and more durable products which should make dropping your iPhone or iPad a less heart-wrenching experience.
This is not the first time there are reports that has suggested that Apple is looking at new materials to build their products with. Earlier this year it was rumored that Apple was looking at the use of liquid metal for its next-gen iPhone (obviously it did not pan out), so while these reports of carbon fiber could be true, such products may never materialize, but what do you guys think?
