Earlier this year, the US District Court for the Northern District of California granted Apple a preliminary injunction against Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 tablet. However despite Apple’s victory over Samsung in the US, the jury found that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 was not guilty of infringing upon Apple’s patents which prompted Samsung to request for the courts to lift the injunction on the device. Unfortunately it turns out the judge who granted the preliminary injunction said that this was not possible as it is now a matter belonging to the appeals court, but did note that Samsung’s appeal did raise some “substantial issues”. While we’re sure that the Galaxy Tab 10.1 will be appealed alongside other Samsung devices along with the $1 billion in damages, there is no doubt that will argue against it. Either way it seems that if you have been hankering for the Galaxy Tab 10.1, you’d be out of luck.
