Are you in the market for a couple of new cameras that will withstand use in “extreme” situations? By extreme we mean during the use of sports, such as dirt biking, motor cross, surfing or just underwater photography. Well if you are, Polaroid has unveiled three new cameras which should be able to get the job done, and these are the XS7, XS20 and the XS100.
Starting with the XS7, this is a video camera capable of capturing video in 720p HD quality. It also has the ability to capture 5MP still images and sports a 2” touchscreen display. It even features a waterproof casing that will allow divers to bring it with them on their diving trips as it is reportedly able to withstand depths of up to 10 meters.
Next up is the XS20, and like its name suggests, it has the ability to withstand depths of up to 20 meters. Like the XS7, it can capture video at 720p HD quality and take 5MP still images. It will also come with eight built-in LED lights that should help in low-light conditions, and with its built-in motion detecting sensors, we don’t see why the XS20 can’t double up as a security camera as well.
Last but not least is the XS100 which will be the top of the line as far as these three models are concerned. It will be able to capture videos in Full HD 1080p quality and still images at 16MP. It sports an ultra-wide lens allowing for 170 degrees of coverage but unfortunately is only waterproof up to 10 meters. The Polaroid XS7, XS20 and XS100 will be priced at $70, $100 and $200 respectively and should be available mid-October.
