Jony Ive to design a Leica M camera that will be auctioned off for charity
We had a look at some of Leica’s new cameras, and if you thought that they weren’t sleek enough or “classic” enough, it seems that there will be one special design of the Leica M camera that will be produced. It will be designed by none other than Apple’s Jony Ive and this special edition Leica M will be put on auction. Only one unit will be made so we can only imagine just how much this camera will cost – as if the original wasn’t expensive enough already! We’re not sure how the Jony Ive-designed Leica M will look like, and we’re not sure how extensive his design will be. Are we looking at merely a superficial design with colors (like the Leica X2 Edition Paul Smith), or are we talking about a totally different body design from the original? Either way we can’t wait to see what Jony Ive will be able to cook up, so stay tuned for more updates! In the meantime what do you guys think of Jony Ive applying his design skills to cameras? After all the Harman Kardon SoundSticks II were designed by him, so perhaps we could be in for a treat here.
