Apple to control sales of dock connector adapters?

With the September 12th event just a week away, you know for sure that many more rumors surrounding the iPhone 5 will continue to make its way in the coming few days without letting up on the pressure. After all, this could be the next best thing since sliced bread for folks watching the technological space, and one of the iPhone 5 rumors that had certainly had their day in the sun would be the possibility of Apple looking into a smaller option from the current 30-pin dock connector. So far, reports of 8-pins to 19-pins have been talked about, but there is no real, official confirmation just yet.

Needless to say, a change in the size of dock connectors would only mean one thing – more money spent, assuming you adopt the new iPhone 5 when it arrives. Your accessories that hook up via the dock connector will need to change their size, and third party accessories manufacturers will definitely be rubbing their hands in glee and anticipation. iLounge has laid claim that Apple intends to be the sole company in the creation of these adapters for its dock connectors, with whispers of them going for $10 a pop – and a $1 discount if you purchase a pack of three at $29. Just a few more days of waiting will confirm or give the game away, so be patient.
