We do know that Samsung is one of Apple’s core suppliers, rolling out microprocessors, flat displays and memory chips (DRAM chips and NAND memory chips) for Apple’s bestsellers such as the iPhone, iPad and iPod. The slashing of orders from Samsung sends a signal that Cupertino intends to diversify their memory chip supply lines, but this might mean that Samsung could very well not be on the list of initial suppliers for future iOS-powered devices.
Needless to say, there was no comment from either Samsung or Apple when contacted concerning the situation, and this might just see Samsung’s share get hit negatively considering how Apple’s orders are no small fry.
