Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE is their first Voice over LTE smartphone

We looked at how MetroPCS proudly claimed to be the first mobile carrier in the US market to make available the Voice Over LTE (VoLTE) service in that part of the world earlier this morning, and here we are with South Korean manufacturer Samsung announcing that they have the world’s first Voice over LTE (VoLTE) smartphone – namely, the Samsung Galaxy S3 LTE. Out in Korea latr this month, it will have a following in the global LTE markets as well, placing Samsung strategically at the forefront of the LTE market and mobile communications technology.
Just what is VoLTE all about? Basically, VoLTE will rely on an IP packet-based service for both voice and data, where new multimedia services can be introduced through this particular method – including converting from voice call to video call. Not only that, it is also said to be able to offer more than double the voice frequency of 3G and HD-level audio codec (AMR-WB), which means your ears will be treated to high quality voice calls that Samsung wants you to believe that it is equal to having a direct conversation with someone in person. With VoLTE, there is no need to download another app for a calling service, so you will no longer “suffer” from inconveniences that arise from changes in network environment, including call connection delay and call misconnections.
