Perhaps on purpose or perhaps they didn’t mean to, but either way it seems that LG has outed the Optimus Vu 2 for the Korean market. This is thanks to a press release announcing an app for the device called the Q Remote which basically brings about IR functionality to the handset. In case it wasn’t obvious enough, the Q Remote will play nicely with compatible set top boxes, home appliances and other devices/gadgets by LG. Given the size of the original Optimus Vu, it certainly has no problems doubling up as a remote control for the home.

The Optimus Vu 2 is set for a release in South Korean markets next month, which oddly enough is also the same time the Tegra-3 powered Optimus Vu will be going on sale in the US on Verizon’s network as the (possible) LG Intuition. Could the Optimus Vu 2 be simply the Tegra-3 powered Optimus Vu, or are we looking at a totally different device entirely?
