LG 84-inch UDTV unveiled to the world, pockets rage and burn

So you think that Blu-ray discs with their resolution count as well as your Full HD TV make quite a pair when it comes to a feast for the eyes? Think again – especially when LG has just introduced what they deem to be the first 84-inch Ultra Definition (UD) 3D TV in the South Korean market (and presumably, the world as well). The LG UD 3D TV will be part of the company’s response to growing consumer demand that have an insatiable appetite, and are always on the lookout for larger and more immersive home TVs. Just what does the LG UD 3D TV deliver?

For starters, we are talking about a massive 8 million pixels per frame, which is four times the resolution (3840×2160) of current Full HD TV panels, and this is made possible thanks to LG’s advanced Triple XD Engine. Not only that, there is also the extra Resolution Upscaler Plus that allows images from external sources including hard drives and user-generated content websites to be rendered in higher detail for your visual enjoyment.

LG has also thrown in their CINEMA 3D technology so that this impressively large display will be able to deliver the most immersive viewing experience possible, where you can fine-tune the “distance” between near and far objects on the screen using 3D Depth Control for a custom 3D experience, while your ears are also not neglected with a 3D Sound Zooming feature that analyzes the on-screen objects in order to generate sound according to their location and movement.

A 2.2 Speaker System that comprises of two 10W speakers and an equal number of 15W woofers are there to keep your ears happy, although we do wonder just how much of a hole this LG UDTV will burn in your pocket if you want one. [Press Release]
