Today’s been a good day at Google. The company previously announced that it will be launching its Knowledge Graph worldwide and it also unveiled a new upcoming feature that will allow Gmail emails to appear on Google searches. Now Google is adding that it has enhanced its search app for iOS to include voice-based questions and answers. As you can see in the video above, the newly updated search app attempts to bring the Google Now on Jelly Bean experience on the iPhone as well as on the iPad.
Google’s Scott Huffman, Engineering Director of Mobile, said that the app has already been submitted to Apple a week ago, and that Google is working with Apple to make it available within the next few weeks. “Often the most natural way to ask a question is by asking aloud. So we’ve combined our speech recognition expertise, understanding of language and the Knowledge Graph so that Voice Search can better interpret your questions and sometimes speak the answers back as full sentences. This has been available on Android for a few weeks and people love it. It’ll soon be available on your iPhone or iPad,” said Amit Singhal, the Senior Vice President for Google Search.
