Dell U2713HM high performance IPS panel announced
Dell, once the world’s biggest computer manufacturer, has not just sat back and done nothing in the years past. They have come up with their fair share of servers, desktops, notebooks, Ultrabooks, and even flirted with the smartphone industry for a while. Well, here is a peripheral from Dell that you might want to consider if accurate colors and great looking visuals are your cup of tea. The Dell U2713HM which is actually a backlit LED that sports 27-inches of viewing goodness on an AH-IPS display. It is the first Advanced High Performance IPS panel from Dell, where it would translate to a viewing angle of up to 178 degrees, clearly upping the ante where IPS displays are concerned.
Not only that, expect to be treated to a resolution count of 2,560 x 1,440 (WQHD) pixels, and with that kind of cranked up performance, Dell has managed to deliver a 37% reduction in energy consumption compared to its predecessor, the U2711. Other connectivity options include HDMI, DisplayPort, VGA or DVI-D, and a four-port USB 3.0 hub built right into it. The asking price of $637 (after conversion) is rather steep though, but you basically get what you pay for here this time around. [Press Release (Japanese)]
