Madfinger games explains why Dead Trigger on Android is free to play
Last week, Madfinger Games pushed out a massive update for Dead Trigger on Android and at the same time made it free to play. Well, while a lot of people were happy about the change, there was also an unhappy group of customers – those who forked out $0.99 for the game before it was free to play. According to announcement on Facebook, Madfinger didn’t do it to spite those who paid for the game. Apparently the piracy rate of the game was “unbelievably high” on Android even if the game was less than a dollar. So to combat piracy, they decided to make the whole game free to play instead.
And in case you were wondering, Dead Trigger isn’t a freemium app and it’s not gimped in any way. It’s possible to complete the game without spending a single cent – it’s just going to be much harder and will probably take up much more of your time (which is what we want from a game right?). For those of you who haven’t checked it out yet, it’s available for free now on the Google Play Store and $0.99 on the Apple App Store.
