The Tegra 3 chip is one of the variants used in many modern tablets, and Kontron says that it will run at only 900MHz, which is a little weird given that the latest version found in the Asus Infinity Pad TF700 can go as high as 1.7GHz. Kontron says that this is not meant for the general public, but for professional applications instead (medical, public display etc..) – in that case, even 900MHz should be enough to get the job done.
The motherboard has many of the standard I/O like HDMI and USB, but also some that have disappeared from consumer computers for a while, like RS-232. On the photo, you can see the Ethernet and audio ports as well. In case people want to extend it, there are two mini-PCI ports – the same ones found in many laptops to add storage or 3G functionality. At this time, there is no public pricing for this product.
